    I like this version better than the first--more light! Lovely flower. Nice composition. Good background. The rough BG contrasts nicely with the smooth flower. Re. long learning curve--that is true for me, but then, the journey is most interesting and fun!

    This is very nice Grahame. The flower is lit nicely, is very sharp, and the BG goes very well with this.

    Nice work! The lighter background (compared to the first post) is interesting without being distracting. And its warm tones provide a very nice contrast to the cool blue of the flower.

    Thank you it does seem better but that stamen on the lower petal annoys me should I clone it out

    Grahame, I really liked the dark BG in the OP but I REALLY like the lighter version....there were some fantastic textures hidden there! Yes, the stamen must go.
