    Hi

Captured on the beach Puerto Jimenez, Osa, CR. Snatching what looks like some kind of snail, mollusc from the narrow channel that remains as the tide goes out.
I was lying on an old sandbag trying to get shore birds when down he came! Very close

I like the composition, the pano because the bird is stretched out. The colors look a bit funky and I'd probably sharpen the eye a bit...nice pose and capture.

We have a similar bird here in Australia called Striated Heron. I have been trying without success to get a shot of one catching something so well done for getting this. Difficult lighting but maybe a bit of Shadows and Highlights could bring more of the bird and tone down the BG. Also, what is the grey area around the beak tip?

    Hi Richard,
You got a great pose and I like how his feet are lifting off the ground. The IQ on the image is not great and the colors are wonky. Is this a big crop? I would brighten the image and do some serious shadow and highlight work to this image,
    Gail

Richard it's a cool pose and a great catch but I feel the image (mostly the bird) is a bit dark. I see the fiunky gray area too.

    Hi

I have a problem with color space settings so will repost when I reset - not sure how that happened, a couple of days ago.
This is a small crop, good IQ just funked by the incorrect color space

Thanks Colin; I didnt find this one easy to process; think I will take a Nik CE trial and see what that does to it.
The light was very strong into the camera off the water, nowhere to reposition, in any case I was lying in the mud lol giving it +2 did get me the detail. These greenies seem hard to get the colors
