It takes time to get used and form a solid opinion about the AF ;)

Way to go Arash. I am glad that Rudy was able to help. As for the AF system, I am 100% sure that it works better for me than any previous camera. By a mile. But heck, maybe it's me.... See here.

With DPP 3.11.26 it is possible to use the FF sensor to its full potential, here is an example of an extreme situation where the image was saved. I was setup for bank shots but the harrier flew into the shade, I kept shooting any way and thus photo was underexposed by a good two stops. Thanks to the 5D3 I was able to recover the photo

Arash, great illustration of your skills on and off the field (processing) and that of the 5D III.

Stunning. IQ and the fact that folks can create gorgeous image files from drastically underexposed RAWs is incredible. Not to mention how well the 5D III files stand up to substantial crops. See here for more 5D III info. If anyone is interested in getting a quick 5D III at the lowest possible price-- It worked for Arash :)--they can e-mail me here: samandmayasgrandpa@att.net.

Here's the link. You have to select your OS from the dropdown menu in order to see the DPP link.

Yep. I did a noise comparison with the Mark IV and have posted a couple of images on Avian, most recently yesterday. The best AF of any Canon SLR I've ever used.

Jeez, I am more senile than I thought as I saw that.... Agree on the AF system. I cannot wait for the on-steroids version....

That sounds about right to me. The funny thing is that I held one months ago. And a Swedish photographer had a 1DX in Alaska in March. Go figure.

So guys, after reading this, sounds and looks lke the 1dx, will do as much if not more than the new 5dmkIII, this sounds like one badazzz camera.... can't wait, arash, your samples make a very compelling reason too upgrade.... if i understand what i've read so far , that new af that you have personally used in the 5dmkIII system will be in the 1dx as well???? Is this correct>>>

1DX AF will be the same exact possibly with improved face detection--not for nature stuff. It will be a 5D III on steroids. See lots of 5D III images and info by scrolling down on my blog here: www.BIRDSASART-blog.com

I am sure 1DX is a great camera but I will pass, I am not going to pay that much for a camera with too modest resolution, will wait until Canon catches up with resolution and speed in one body, until then I will use my MK4 which I still like, unless it dies or I just find leftover cash that I can't blow on drinks and parties...
