    Default Black capped chickadee

This was taken recently on a cold morning. I used flash as this was taken just before sunrise. This one is a large crop. With Flash somehow my SS was locked at 1/250.

PP - Cropped, USM, NR on BG, removed blue color cast and flash effect from eye. C&C most welcome.

Very nice Comp, and a nice look at this cute little bird.
I would not have known you used flash, well done.
With flash, I would maybe have gone for a bit smaller aperture to get the tail in focus.
Tough little birds to get though, nice work.

    Default Nice one

Good one, I know they are tough to get.

I have had the same problem (?) with the flash. it gets locked at 1/250. BUt sometimes ,only sometimes, I can get a higher SS with the high "H" setting on.

Set your flash to high speed synch mode to get above 1/250sec. Nice pose and perch! Would like the tail to be more in focus since it's closest to the camera. Can you get more detail out of the whites? Also, may have a blue cast. (At work computer so not sure)

Sachin, was this pop-up flash or external? If external, then if you haven't set it up on high-speed mode, then the SS will not go over the 1/250..which is the synch speed.

nice head turn and details. does not look like a big crop. Well done.
