One of my favorite images from the eagle series you have. Best perch ever, open beak, nice IQ and so on. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Alan, what a great calling pose, and you have exposed the eagle nicely, especially the darker plumage. Tack sharp, and I do like the 'fossilized' looking perch, together with the surrounding snow.

The perch is beautiful and I like the calling pose. The colors seem a bit off to me ie. the feathers are too black. Perhaps Alaska eagles have a different color plumage than Nova Scotia eagles? I would also back off a bit on the detail extractor as I find the whites feathers on the head a bit unnatural looking ( look like they are painted rather than photographed).
I do like the BG of whites and blues as well,
    Gail

Stunning. Love the calling pose, the talons gripping that wonderful perch, the almost high-key look to the image. I can see Gail's point about the detail on the head, but a fantastic image all around.

I just love how the shape of the perch mirrors the curve of the eagle's back. Such an artistic, lovely image.

Alan, absolutely stunning. Did you set this perch up? if so, great choice. You and Robert Otoole must have clicked at the same time. His newsletter had a very similar shot.

pose, iq, angle, composition....an image of the highest quality.
