Yes the black Swan is real. Her name is Blacky and I was lucky enough to get a personal invite to a friends community here in FL for a shot at this beauty. I hope to return for more. I was sad to hear that her mate was recently killed by a dog that i missed many days with chicks in the past.
As pretty as she is she is said to be kinda mean by the community. She won't let any other birds like ducks stay on the pond.
Pretty much full frame but roatated and cropped

Really nice Cheryl. I like the ruffled feathers, the front wake and partial view of the foot. Beautiful HA. I might sharpen the head and top third of neck a bit,

Very nice pose and I really like the composition. Ruffled feathers add a lot. Very well done on what looks like a tough exposure.

Does it have a VIsa? Common swan down here and this one looks just like ours. They have a shiny beak that is hard to deal with. At a local pond I counted 40 adults and 5 little ones the other day. I like the pose and the water looks lovley.

nice exposure here with good details - I've seen them before, believe it or not
bright light was handled well here...I do wonder if brightness can be toned down a tad?

Thank you Morkel for the suggestion. I actually shot this pretty light to preserve the blacks so I still needed more work, I also worked a little on the shiny bill.. Better? I've never seen one before.

Excellent image. Very nice pose, exposed very well, great feather detail, and repost is much better IMO.
    Very well done.

They are just so graceful and elegant, Cheryl.I have seen a pair in captivity and they can be very aggressive.
Your repost with slight tone-down is excellent.I love the HA and the ruffled feathers.Well done in difficult light.

Hi Cheryl, what an elegant pose, and just love that long neck. Good job on the blacks, and you have brought out the feathers really well. Im seeing a bit of magenta in the colour of the water in your repost, or have I had a long day. In your OP, the water looks blue.

Repost take it to where it should be. Nice one Cheryl. I used to see a lot of these in Albert Park down under in Melbourne, Australia.
