    I decided to try and re calibrate my camera and lens with the 2x extender. Well looked what happened. This Australian Magpie landed and started to investigate this similar looking thing!

    1DMK4, 500mm + 2X ext, 1/320 @ 8, ISO 320.

    that's a good calibration target, just needs to sit there for a while ;)

    Judging by the sharp focus on the eye, it looks like you might be a little close focusing :)

    Ian - I was set on one shot AF drive and only had centre point focus. focused on eye then re composed - so that it why the eye is sharpish. I did not have a lot of time so just fired away - all over in 10 seconds.
