This guy was about to land on an ugly geen nesting box.
I had to remove the box from the image as it was spoiling the picture.
The belly had green reflection coming from the green box that I also had to remove by using color replacement tool.
    Thanks for looking.

A very nice shot Karl and I assume it is hand held. Pose is excellent as is the pp'n. My eye sight is not the greatest and work on a laptop, but I am curious if this is a decent sized crop. Great bg as well.

Hi Karl, approach shots arent easy to get right, but you pretty much nailed this one. Well placed in the frame, good swept back wing position, and I like the colours on this fellow. Good call on removing the nesting box.

    Thanks.
It was a sizable crop. I started shooting with a 500 plus 1.4x but had hard time capturing them.
I swithced over to 400 hand held.

A hard shot to capture, I have tried many times. This is not pin sharp but it is pretty good. Great job removing the box and the Bg is very painterly.

Hi Karl, I can see an abrupt cloning line in RLC to the right of your signature. The landing pose is great and lovely colors. Bird is not tack sharp unfortunately but this could be due to the large crop. You are a patient man to do all this PP work!

That was a serious amount of PP you did here, Karl. Love the action/behavior you captured here and you really did a great job on the processing. Unfortunately, the IQ here is suffering some from the large crop, esp in the area of the bird's face. That aside, however, this is a really wonderful capture and "save."

Great landing pose and ps work for the final. Agreed about the IQ but still very cool.

I see what others mean about the IQ but I am still impressed by both the capture and the processing work, Karl! Especially marveling at the capture given how hard I tried to get a good bluebird in flight this morning and failed. Not easy to do. How did you ever select the tiny legs and feet in order to get rid of BG? By hand with the lasso tool? That must have been painstaking!
