Just tidying up all of my video files (thankless task), and thought I would take another look at our encounter with a fine Sable herd in Mapula Botswana

Ken - always nice to see these antelopes. This doesn't seem to have the same IQ as most of your images. It feels like it needs a boost of contrast or something.

    Rachel,

Thanks for your comment, the only excuse I can think of was that the image was taken with a MkII N, not that it should be excused, a mighty fine camera (except if you wish to enter Veolia WPOTY)

    Ken,

I am not generally keen on OOF stuff in the FG of the image (LL bush), but here I think it balances nicely as it forms a diagonal line of sight with the antelopes.

I've yet to see a herd of them in the open like this.
I notice the effect of heat haze in the background...what time of day was this taken?

    Morkel,

Not to sure which part of my comment perplexes you.

But I will give it a go, the file size is quite small by today's standards as I recall around 8mb, which is below the 10mb limit introduced by the competition around 2 years ago

    Hi Ken,
Beautiful antelope and I like the different, facing poses. Nice detail in the horns on the big one. I also noticed what appears to be heat shimmer in the BG bushes, maybe a little blurring to minimize.
