    Default Great Horned Owlet

The same Owlet I posted the other day from a slightly different angle.
Very hard to get a good look at these. Mostly just trying out my
new camera in bad lighting situations, but I love these guys. I should have taken this at higher ISO (like 6400).
This is at ISO 3200 and just 1/125 HH.
Removed some branches (including one partially over the right eye and one over the tail)
NR on BG, none of the chick.

Hi Dan, you seem to have done pretty nicely. With ISO-3200 this is very nice. Shooting angle is steep but that is where these guys hang out.
Pose and BG looks nice and visible talons are plus.

Your hand holding technique served you well at 1/125. Nice job with the PS work. I like the visible talons, but I think your best focus is on the talons and the perch beneath them.

Very nice shot. Great pose, love the stare, great perch, and comp.
    Well done.

"Cute" fella! I imagine there was no way to physically move to get that branch away from the eye, but in any case you did a good job removing it in post. I would work the pupils to get them the same shade of black though (the one to our left is blue compared to the other). Ditto Doug for critical focus. Perhaps another round of sharpening to the head area would work wel for web posting.

very nice Dan, branch removal done well. agree the sharpest part is the talon but I think you can fix it by sharpening the head more.

welcome to the world of high ISO.

Hi Dan, thats a fair sized chick, and I like the eye contact. Good choice of comp, and I have to agree with the others regarding the focus point. You are so fortunate to see these guys.

Too good image for ISO 3200 you could clear the noise in the right eye of the bird .
