Low down image, lens foot on the floor. Watched a flock working there way towards me and just kept still. Didn't see the grass seed in the beak until back at home on the computer!
What a great shooting angle for this little sparrow. I also like the nice grass habitat. It looks very hard to get without one of two stems in front of bird and you did very well.
A slight head turn would have been nice to have. I like the crop as presented.
Yes, good low angle, well exposed, and sharp. Yes to a better HA, but with this light angle you risked having the face in shade that way. I would also prefer a bit less at left. Looks like our Savannah Sparrow here in North America. Do you have that species in the UK too?
Thanks for the feedback. Yes HA is a little off perfect but this way lit the eye best.
Daniel, really sorry. Our UK sparrows are similar but this was taken at Merritt Island, FL. Our males are very differently marked to the females. Is this the same with Savanah Sparrows?
