This morning I got up early and drove to a reef where I was hoping to photograph a Pacific Golden Plover in breeding plumage. I had a very un-pleasant surprise when I got there just to discover the gate is closed and there is no access....
Instead of getting into the car and driving home I decided to photograph this very common bird that I usually ignore....

I'm happy to see anyone paying attention to gulls, particularly if they didn't before. Gulls are photogenic, and this particular gull (which i've never seen before) is a looker!

Very nice Ofer. Great details on the whites. I have never seen this gull in real life. Are the reds really that bright? beautiful blue BG as well,

Thanks Gail, the legs and beak become that red in breeding season. Breeding seaosn is over in here but this bird still has the beautiful plumage and colours.

This just drips with quality. A tad more headroom perhaps?
