A few weeks ago a friend called and said she had a hummingbird nest at her house. I tried for two weeks to get there before they fledged to no luck. The owner removed the nest and then called me and said they were still there in the bushes and I could visit. The mother was still feeding them. I found out they were the smallest N.American bird and they are really tiny.
I rushed there and spent several hours working hard through the branches and leaves. My most interesting feeding shot will come later.
This is about a 20% or less portrait crop shot with my 70-300 L IS lens on a 1V MK IV.
The opportunity was priceless

I guess I could have held off a bit on the saturation. The owner of the property refused to allow flash. This is what was available. I am happy to have had the opportunity, flash or not.
