This has a wonderful, almost nostalgic look to it, with such lovely light. To my eye, taking just a bit off the bottom improves it by minimizing the OOF smudge. I really like the image.

nice image, good pose, you cn almost see it squinting,in the sun,if mine,I think I would clone out the blue bits, were the legs enter the water, they keep drawing my eye to them.but its still a nice image thanks.

Looks like he just fluffed, nice capture. Tricky light angle, you made it work well. You know me, I like space and I would be more comfortable with less on the bottom and more on the top. (Personal preference). And a touch more sharpening on his face might not hurt.

I agree with removing the smudge
For my taste, the entire bird could use some sharpening, not just the head....

    Hi Robert,
This is really nice and I much prefer it to your other image. I agree with more sharpening and getting rid of the blue around the legs where they enter the water. I like the comp as is and would maybe add a sliver above head,
    Gail

Ok. Here is the repost. I took some off the bottom, added some on top, removed the blue around the legs, and sharpened.
    Let me know.
