I'm excited to finally see a nice sunset after a long dry spell, pun intended, as there were no clouds most days last summer and then the sun moved too far south in winter. This was made on the 23rd. Canon EOS 5D Mark II, f/5 @ 24 mm, 1/200, ISO 320 - PP in Lightroom 4 and CS6 beta and Nik Tonal Contrast filter. Oops, forgot to clone out the channel marker.

I really like the way the small clouds in the foreground are illumintated and backlit by the setting sun. I like the crop, and the marker doesn't detract from the image at all for me.

I would get rid of the channel marker, but otherwise, you are a master at these.
    Very nice.

Judy, vivid rocks!! In addition to the channel marker a bit of CW is definitely needed.

Thanks Mike, Dan and Jay! Jay, I gave it a slight rotation and it should be straight. I also removed the channel marker and log in the far back water.

    Looks good Judy, but...........

This is quick and dirty on my laptop screen. You are now using CS6 and I understand the new crop tool is like the LR crop tool. Just draw a line from side where the water begins to the other side and it will be straight.

The land to the mid right is an island this side of the river channel and closer to the camera. There are 4 different distances in the shorelines in the image. I did it 3 times and that was the best I could do with a mouse.

Hi Judy, a beautiful cloud scape...I just love the clouds floating beneath the higher cloud formation. Awesome colors too!

Judy - beautiful sky, nicely composed. Repost works for me.

What an awesome sky Judy! I like how you kept the comp simple...but assuming this is from your "front porch" I couldn't help but feel you could use this sky to better effect by looking for some sort of interest in the foreground other than just water? I don't want to complicate a scene like this...but just letting my thoughts run? WDYT?
