    Default Kgalagadi Queen

Sorry for being so inactive lately, but I will try to make make up...

This lioness was a member of a pride of about six lions that we found near the Monro waterhole in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in South Africa during May 2011. The other members of the pride were enjoying themselves with the scraps left of a bluewildebeest kill, when she came strolling down to them...

I could not confirm whether she had some very young cubs nearby that have not been introduced to the pride yet... Her grace, confidence and mere presence made for a thrilling encounter with these rulers of the kalahari...

Rudi - beautiful! Low pov, comp, raised paw, colors of habitat and intense stare all combine for an excellent image.

Great image Rudi and just the right amount of space on the LFS.

    Hi Rudi,
A wonderful image, I like the composition, detail and POV. For me the highlight is the colours in the vegetation that has changed following the rains. It compliments the colour of the lioness.
    Best wishes,
    Mark.

Hi Rudi, nice to see you back posting and look forward to seeing more from your adventures.

Techs, colours & detail all look good, especially when the subject is some 80m away. If you have it, then perhaps a hint more 'image' at the foot would be nice, just a fraction more and might also add a hint more mid tone (optional).

Very nice image Rudi. Pose is nice, she's well positioned between the path in the bushes, and the colors and details all look real good.

nice to see you posting again Rudi!
love the colours and intent pose here
I am going to be the only one to mention this, it seems, but I feel the image can use a slight CCW rotation...the ground is clearly angled down towards the right (even if slightly) and it also appears that the lioness is slanting slightly to the RHS IMHO

    can't wait for more!

I like your composition and soft colors. Techs also look spot on. Well done.
