These Ground Squirrels offer amazing opportunities for playful interaction at low angles in the rest camps of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. They are somewhat accustomed to human activity but still not tame. I was lying on my stomach shooting in the last useful hours of the morning after returning from an early game drive.

I am off to the Greater Kruger National Park for a few days and should be back in circulation by Monday. Let's see some interesting posts until then!

Interesting content Morkel, just not sure if the IQ is up to your usual standard???? Did you add any blurring to the FG, as you have some clarity in the FG above the © but it tails off to the left and above and then picks up?

Sharp eyes, Steve......light was getting harsh here (you can see the heat haze in BG) but wanted to post to show the interesting moment.
Regarding the sharp/OOF areas - the ground here was very uneven, even slightly 'undulating' (to a small degree) so it's probably just the effect of that you're spotting as I didn't do (and generally don't) add blurring to my images...

Thought it might be heat haze, but worth a question. Good to no it's all natural.

    Enjoy your trip.

    Morkel,

Very nice and different pose here, looks more like a whisper than a kiss to me

    Have a great trip.

    I'll try my best

Morkel - nice interaction. Low pov works great. Interesting about the heat haze. Hope the trip is a fruitful one.

    Rachel

I think it's a great moment that's been captured, and both squirrels are very sharp and clear. As for the background and heat haze - they don't bother me that much, and I'm sure if you wanted to de-emphasize some of that, you could soften up the background a bit in PP.

Nice moment captured Morkel. I like the interaction and would have liked eye contact with the squirrel on the left. Still a nice image.
