    Nice Black-crowned Night Heron Ian. I like the reflection. The light is soft and warm. You have adequate depth of field to get the whole bird in focus. There's good detail in the feathers but I see some noise too. It would be hard to remove the noise and retain all the detail in the subject but you could play with some gentle NR.

    Ian,

    John and Gary provided good feedback. The picture seems to lack some mid tones IMO and I noticed you used levels. I might add more mids as opposed to setting the end points. Curves could help as well and so could selective color, adding +2 grey and black. Good subject placement might give the subject more room - thanks for sharing - well done.

    Hi Ian, don't know how I missed this one but I really like it! Love the soft, warm light and the excellent detail. You really got the most from your depth of field budget in this image. Well done!
