    Default Tulip w/Chrome Filter

I wanted to exaggerate the texture of the tulips that just came out of my garden so I tried the chrome filter and changed the blend mode to Soft Light. I backed it down to about 65% (if I remember correctly) and then cleaned up along the edges.

Jules, I like the chrome effect - it adds a nice texture. Would you consider a crop ( a teeny bit) from the top to eliminate just a little of the white space? I wish we could grow tulips here.

Julie, it's a lovely comp and beautiful colored tulip. I might reduce the effect slightly in the top left petal if it were mine. You did a great job with the chrome.

Hi Julie, lovely comp and filtering, but perhaps a touch less as Denise mentions. Love the reds!

I think it's all very effective, Jules. Great diagonals, great color, and great detail. It's not the typical tulip image, and that's a good thing.

Jules: I've come back to this image to see if it speaks to me differently, but it doesn't. There is something about it that doesn't quite work for me--perhaps the upper light area. Also, the large bright red area of the front petal lacks the detail I'd like. Sorry :-(
