    Default Tulip Time!

I planted about 40 tulips last fall and am starting to harvest the first of them. This is actually one of the ones I planted several years ago that is still coming up so it made its debut before the others.

I used a black board for the base and BG and lit the flower with two small studio lamps for several different setups. Not sure but I think this one had one light up high and the other one just off the back. I did tone down the spectral highlights a tiny bit along the top rim of the petals.

    Hi Julie,
The curling leaf does add a nice touch of interest. Beautifully lit and well composed. well done.

Wow. Beautiful composition and colors. Gotta love that curved leaf, too. And I like that it's out of focus.

Excellent work Julie! The sharp flower against the black BG and the OOF stem and curled leaf, is just popping out of my screen! I really like it very much!

What's not to like about this one? The glow of the flower looks great and that curling leaf is a nice touch.
