    Jonathan:

Nice look back pose, complimentary BG,nesting material. Well exposed, large perch for him, but color works well with the nesting material.

I might trim a bit at the top, at the risk of going a bit square.

I might do just a bit more sharpening on the head as the back looks sharper to my eye.

    Cheers

Very nice. The moss in the mouth adds to the image. I agree with all that Randy has said.

nice look back pose and the nest item. I agree critical focus was on the tail.

Thanks for the C & C everyone, I think you are absolutely right regarding focus on the hes being just a tad out. I have attached a grab of the RAW processed file - (note I brushed out a highlighted OOF twig) I was using AF point expansion as I was previously photographing ducks in flight, I thought as the area was being selected it would have perhaps been close enough, I didn't want to risk time changing anything I just wanted to ensure I got some shots as I had never been able to get a wren before.......(Lesson learned - Had I changed the AF I would have had fewer shots but may be I would have had a better one).

Hi Jon, just love how the cocked tail jutts out from the rest of his body, and I like the pose, looking down the line of the perch. The moss covered perch does add something extra, as does him holding onto a piece of loose moss too.

  9. Thanks Jonathan Ashton thanked for this post

    Hey Jon,
you can use the joystick to move the AF point quickly. Set AF selection to "multi-controller" direct. here the expansion grabbed the tail ;)

Arash, I think you have taught me something here, I knew I could use the multicontroller - but DIRECT I had not appreciated - thanks I will set this up - like NOW!

Very nice light and look-back pose. The eye has been mentioned. I would prefer to see a thinner perch.

In an ideal world I agree but when you are out walking the dog you have to take what you are given
