Its been quite sometime since I posted in this section. Out today in lovely spring weather , I was lucky to observe 5 hares boxing, chasing and mating. Usually the action if one is even lucky is quite far off on the marshland but todauy I got pretty lucky. This chap came right over to the hide! So , its a 50 crop, sharpened with SS after NR in Topaz. Gave a bit of color boost Sat +15. Used spot healer to remove some light twigs fro face. I love his eye! Let me know what you think 7D 100-400 iso 400 eV 0 f5.6 SS 1/1250

On my monitor image looks much too contrasty and color saturated.

Hi Richard, I think the RP is an improvement, but I feel you were fighting the light. Not sure what time of day this was shot in, but looks like the weather will be cracking this week, so perhaps a revisit later in the afternoon might be more fruitful. I might be tempted to add some more selective sharpening on parts of the head.

I do like the eye as well...but feel that overall the light direction was less than ideal.
I agree on adding some sharpening to the head area.
Good to see you posting again - looking forward to more as you spend more time in this hide...

    Guys

So right light was terrible, coming full in front the right lol so in the circumstances its not too bad, but I fully expected these comments
I will sharpen as suggested. Very unlikely indeed that the critters will come so close - warden said in fifteen years one had never come so close !
Worth the shot for their records. I have some Central American stuff; sloths, monkeys etc I will get posted as soon as I can

Don't hold back Richard, the more variety, the richer the Forum becomes.
