This from Gatorland in Orlando. This specimen is not a colorful as some , but the pose is very nice. Slight crop for composition. Flash fill at -2 stops w/ BB, handheld. A 70-200 is just right for Gatorland. My 300 stays in its bag most of the time, the action being as close as it is in the morning hours. All C&C welcome.

Very nice pose with the raised crown feathers. I like the clear view of the feet. I would clone out the white egret below his feet or burn the whites to decrease the impact.Good exposure on the whites. Very nice,

Excellent exposure and a lot of dof for 2.8, impressed.
I agree with Gail's comment, and I might be tempted to use the sharpening diamond or even burning the beak to pull out some more black for contrast. You could dodge the feet for some yellows. Great image, hope to visit there some day.

Wonderful light, pose, and detail here, David. Excellent job on those whites. I think your squarish comp works well here.

David, excellent uncluttered view, elegant pose(so typical of a snowy) and exposure. So hard to get such views in rookeries. The one we have here in Dallas is a complete mess :-) I liked that vegetation to both sides of the egret...frames it nicely.
