    Default Spring Time Weeeee!

Finally, my patience and perseverance has paid off for this shot. While out with this family the one chick would just start flapping and jumping and running out of nowhere. I got a few shots from behind but yesterday he was wondering on his own. He looked up at me and up went the wings then BAMM! he was off and running right towards me. It was the shot I had hoped for. Cropped about 30% to put him to the right. I chose to crop from the top to leave the room for him to run into.

I love the shot in general.
It's a little too high key for my taste. You might try pulling down the exposure and raising the contrast a bit.
You also might try cropping it as 10x8 aspect ratio.
    Good work!
    Thanks for posting.

Hi Cheryl, BAMM! BAMM! BAMM! you nailed this. Excellent low perspective, and just love the eye contact. One day those wings will be big enough for him to fly over your head next time. I like the placement in the frame too. Well captured.

Terrific capture - great moment. On my screen it looks like the highlights are a bit too bright. Not much, but I would probably adjust those down a bit.

It doesn't look high key to me.
These very young chicks have that fuzzy oof look and you captured it and the spirit well.

Lovely looking action photo. Placement, details and expression look perfect for a baby products ad and I mean that in a very respectful way. Good for you to persevere.

    Hello Cheryl.
I prefer your second attemp. Love the light, grass and of course the cuteness of this little guy. Great job, I'm glad you nail it.

Wonderful image, Cheryl. You have really captured the essence of spring and of chickhood here. Great job on the rework. Agree with Ofer on additional sharpening improving this even more.

Cheryl, About as cute as it gets. Great moment captured. This is my own take on the composition, everyone has his or her own. I would give this less room on the bottom and more on top to give the feeling of lift, space to jump in to. I love the little flowers and the baby fuzz...hard to sharpen as it can look jagged but I do think you could use a little more.

Grace girl you are right on with that. I played with this crop in the beginning and never liked the oof front but wanted the space to run into. Your comment about the space to "jump" into got me back to editing and i like this so much better. Is he to close to the right now?

You could give it a smidge more room on the right, but I really love this.
