    Bald Eagle

    Kachemak Bay, Kenai Peninsula, Alaska

    D4, 300/2.8, ISO 400, 5.6, 1/5000, road kill Rabbit.

Finally back from a very productive trip to Alaska.
I have over 12,000 images of Bald Eagles to go through, and all taken with the new D4 :-)
Hard to pick a favorite, but this was one I had in mind before I left home.

This is just a killer image, pose, action, behavior. The low angle and the flying snow give it such a realistic feel!!

Stunning detail. The wing detail is pretty amazing. Looks like you're enjoying that D4.

Alan the eagle looks absolutely regal and superb. The rabbit leaves me staring at it, I don't know what it is.... but is it oversharpened?

What an excellent pose. I guess the reflected light off snow is really opening up the dark feathers on the wings. Seems perfect to me.

I wonder where the rabbit came from. Wild and by chance or baited in some way?

Hey Jonathan, does not look over sharpened on my monitor. The same amount of sharpening was done on the whole image. Thanks.

Hey Dave, as mentioned in my original post, the rabbit was road kill.
