    Default Hello From Victoria BC

    Hi Folks,
My name is Cam and I reside in Victoria BC Canada. I’ve been shooting for about 3 years now and enjoy getting outside and seeing what I might happen upon in my travels. Recently started getting a little more serious and purchased a small hide/blind and a bit of camo gear. I’m a bit of an anomaly in that I shoot with a Sony a77, Sony 70-400 SAL G and a few other bits and pieces. Would one day like to be able to afford the new Sony 500 F4 “G”? J

Hi Cam, wellcome. Although there are quality of every gear,...it'only the eye to make photos. I remind you some 10 years ago the jury of Wildlife photographer of the year awarded a russian , living in Siberia, a shot with an old mechanic camera of poor qualiry, ..but the shot was: the siberian tiger. It'all!

Welcome to BPN Cam!! Gear is only a small part of the equation, I'm sure you've got some beautiful stuff to share for critique...looking forward to it!

Hi Cam, I am another Sony user who feels totally outnumbered by the C/N photographers, particularly in this forum. I visited the Sony booth at the PDN Photo Show in NYC last weekend. For bird photographers A99 has superior focusing system but only 24MP full-frame. So A77 remains my wanna-have body. What do you think? The 500f4 was there. I am all too happy with the 300f2.8+1.4x to seriously consider spending $13,000. If Sigma ever makes a the 300-800 zoom in the Sony mount (they do not have such plans), that would be a different story
    Best, Jakub
