Unusual image of this species, I'm sure this was a fun sighting! Slightly underexposed subject (flash would have helped), busy setting, steepish angle, and clipped tail / feet all contribute unfavorably to the overall impact of the image. Good details though, and I like the alert pose.

Bright BG hurts this image. Little tight on the bottom and right side of the frame. Tough including sky in images on days with that type of light

A nice and unusual pose. I like the dof and bird is nice and sharp. Zooming out just a bit more for the added room would have worked out and as mentioned a tough exposure.

Lovely shot, you could consider lowering the brightness of the sky a little, it is a shame the tail was clipped but I suspect this was not apparent until after the event.

Thanks for all of the repleys and comments.

One I don't under stand by Daniel quote was ( steepish angle), as this picture was taken at eye level.
This Roadrunner set in this tree (bush) off and on for four days, as I camped in the RV.
I have many shots of him but this was the best head shot.

Again thanks for the comments and looking.

My apologies CM. To me it looked like we were looking upwards at the subject. Thanks for the additional info!
