Default Canon 1d mk4 continues to be out of stock...Hmmmm?

Have been watching the supply of that camera for a while with the new bodies coming out. Was going to get one but Canon and all the big guys have been out of stock for a while. And they report they have no idea when they will get any.. Earthquake, new product launches the reason? Probably so but does get you to wondering with the supposed hole in their product ladder of new releases , if more surprises are around the corner. Thoughts?

Thanks Ofer, they must have just got some in....Canon does not have them and BHPhoto, Adorama and Hunt's which is who I usually use did not when I last checked...I confess that I did not recheck BHphoto before the post. I know they all got big shipments from Canon this week as my 5dIII went out last night.

Ofer, as of today, Canon, BHphoto, Adorama, and Hunts are all out of the 1dMKiv..Adorama reports they have no idea when they will get any..probably means nothing ..but other than the short period the other day, they have been pretty much out of them for a pretty good while...

Steve- We have always had 1DIVs when they have been out of stock in the US. Check Canadian suppliers such as Aden Camera and Camera Canada. Prices in Canada have often been less than B&H which is saying something.

Thanks John, good to know....I am all set now with the 5dIII but that is really the replacement for the 5dII that I sold. Pro body still in the plans..not sure when I will pull the trigger...May sit back a bit to see what evolves....I am thinking I am going to like the new focusing system enough to wait for a new product...

Thanks after a week with Robert Otoole in Alaska shooting eagle images, I am in love with the 5diii AF system . Every participant took nearly 10k images as the opportunities that Robert found us were beyond belief. The 5diii was awesome and in the hands of a pro who has 1dmk4 and many other bodies, he felt best AF he had seen. So I think I will wait on the 1d x or another 5diii

5D3 is a good camera but it is not fast enough for action IMO. It's a backup camera. Good luck
