    Default A Flying Rainbow

I photographed this Scarlet Macaw during my recent Costa Rica workshop that I co-led with Greg Basco. I know the Macaw is fairly close to a tree, but I really liked the how the strong diagonal of the tree matched the trajectory of the bird. I'm interested in your opinions.

    Hi Doug.

Those colors are amazing! I would reduce the intensity of the background, especially to the upper right and other brighter spots to help the bird stand out eve more. The branch going up through the chin is distracting, so maybe a little blurring?

Very nice. I hope to see these guys someday.

    Wow Doug,
A beautiful wing spread and a kaleidoscope of colors. I am OK with the BG but would clone out the branch that is under the chin. Love the HA and find the diagonal of the body and branches pleasing to my eye. A beautiful shot,
    Gail

Brilliant colors, sharp, and a great wing position. Agree with removing the branch under the chin.

I honestly never even noticed the branch under the chin. Thanks for pointing it out.

Wow!!!! Wonderful image. Love the flight pose, excellent feather detail, and very well composed. The bird is so colorful with a great wing span that it attracts the eye immediately and you forget about the background.Very well done.
