    Default Flower with something extra...

Hi guys, this flower (on a flowering tree) was captured at the LA County Arboretum with my new 1D4, which I love dearly... As I was working on the image, using Topaz filters (DeNoise, Detail, Adjust) I noticed how there were a few highlights that might work with the new Star Effects filter from Topaz. I played with the filter a bit and found that I could remove all but one of the stars, which is on the stamen in the center. Sorry, but I don't know what tree this was...

Look's like the camera is a keeper, lovely sharp detail's in the flower, background is very nice and I like the little star for effect...cool, well done

Really nice touch with the starburst, Kerry. Beautiful image, nice detail and beautiful complimentary background. What kind of tree?

Maureen, I did my homework and I believe this is a Hong Kong Orchid Tree - Bauhinia blakeana. One of the many exotic and beautiful species of plants at the arboretum.

Excellent composition, Kerry! Love the shape, color, light, and BG compliments bloom very well. Nicely processed and star effect is a great touch.
