A beauty Stephen! Says everything about the stealthiness of a leopard, well depicted.
Great eye contact, really showing off her? large whiskers nicely.

Really like the setting on this one Stephen, nice to see a different habitat. I also like the pose, position in frame as the path in the rocks leads you to the subject and as Marc highlighted, the eye contact too.

Personally i would suggest you look at removing the slight yellow cast and getting slightly cleaner whites, just a thought. What time of day was this taken?

I would suggest a tighter crop here Stephen even though it does result in a square frame (ROT - vertical right line thru centerline of eyes).

The cat looks great with that stare - hence my thought to strengthen the image around the cat and have less rock. I find the greenery a visual distraction as it stands out on the rock so vividly.

Great stalking pose, eye contact and habitat. I agree it's nice to see a different habitat every so often.

Great setting, looks like a cougar in the SW US.
Nice DOF and a super stalking pose.

Very cool. Nice surroundings, like he's coming out of his lair, and a great stance by the cat.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Robert, I take your point about the composition. I was a bit undecided myself and thought the environment was part of the story. Always good to have different opinions and I agree about the greenery.

great pose and setting indeed, effective DOF too
great sighting for Kruger! was this near Malelane?
I like the framing as posted. Great sharpness for the combo used - curious about whether you support it on a beanbag or on a wimberly door-mount? I've found that using the 500+1.4 on my D7000 (which gives almost the same FOV) you need excellent technique and good support...

Morkel, this was near Pretoriuskop. I used a beanbag here as I'm not a big fan of wimberly syle door-mounts in self drive vehicles. Too restrictive.

Killer stare! I agree it is nice to leopard in the rocky setting. I have only seen them with a lot of vegetation around.

    Stephen,

This has to be amongst the best Leopard images I have seen in an awfully long time. I cannot really comment on colour problems mentioned by others as I am on a cheap monitor in UK. Beautiful pose, beautiful setting I like the shrubbery
