    Default Courting Avocets

    Caught this pair at the Gilbert Riparian Preserve, Arizona this weekend.



    Nikon D90 with 300mm f4 AFS and 1.4 x Teleconverter.
    1/1600" f5.6, ISO 400, 420mm, +0EV, Pattern Metered, Manual Mode.

    These are beautiful birds and you captured an unusual pose with good HA's and both in focus....not easy to do. The whites appear well exposed on my monitor.

    To me, the reflection really isn't that strong and i would consider cropping from the bottom but leave enough for "virtual feet"

    Very well done.

    I agree with Joel...crop off the reflection. There just isn't enough
    detail in the reflections to keep. I'm thinking cropping it right
    above or at the reflection head of the Avocet on the right.

    Nice, Alex! I've never been able to get the courting pose head-on like this. Nice exposure. I agree about the reflections.

    I'm in Tahoe this week, but plan on getting out there this coming week and hope I haven't missed all the courting.
