    Default blackbird, among the greens

Good morning, fine birdsprouts! It's my absolute pleasure to submit this image for your comments and suggestions...it's a pretty simple one in that it's had no post-processing work done to it. Oh wait! That's not quite true! I did clone out a small bit of foliage. Also, the picture here represents ~60% of the original image. The light was rather extraordinary on this fine day and it gave me these lucky blues & greens. This particular shot was taken with a (relatively) cheap camera setup and the "IQ" is not spectacular, but in this case I don't think it's a hinderance. I believe I'm posting this image in the right place. I'm a great fan of this forum, and I've been delighted and overwhelmed by the helpful suggestions offered on my first two images! What a forum this is! You people are aces! Anyhow, if anyone can identify the foliage in this shot I'd be most grateful...
Huzzah! Spring is on her way...

Hi Jack, I like the small in the frame look but I wonder if a vertical comp might work too. With the bird slightly angled away you get a nice view of the tail, I do wish we could see a bit more of the detail in the darks. Can't help with the evergreen ID but it does look nice and sharp. The blues and greens are lovely.

Denise, many thanks. Good and thoughtful tips, o yes. A vertical composition would certainly work, I agree.

Nice one, Jack! Like the overall comp, looking up POV and texture and color of perch contrast nicely against rich blue sky. Good suggestions from Denise.

Hi jack...those spring greens certainly have a nice light on them! Another vote for the vertical composition! Nice work!

I agree about the vertical composition. Lovely, bright colors. I like the composition. I think the bright sun caused the blacks of the bird to lose some detail, but I'm not a bird photographer.
