A Golden Goodbye to the Snowy Owl Irruption of 2012
I was thrilled to be able to visit the Snowy Owls on 2 separate occasions during this irruption year And I was blessed with clear skies on my last afternoon with these incredible birds. The series of photos that this frame was chosen from was the last bird I saw in the sweet late light of the final afternoon. After this encounter I packed up my gear and headed for home with a big smile on my face. I was lucky to have a handsome specimen of an owl choose an awesome perch against a gorgeous background and then look right at me! Slight crop from full frame. No cloning.

A wonderful capture of a wonderful memory Doug. Good for you. The last time I saw numbers close to this batch, around Vancouver, BC was 2007. It may be awhile until the next.
