    This was taken last November. After feasting on wild berries this was resting in shadow.
    Exif data
    Camera Canon EOS 7D
    Exposure 0.001 sec (1/800)
    Aperture f/5.6
    Focal Length 700 mm
    ISO Speed 640
    Exposure Bias 0 EV

    PP - NR on BG, Sharpening and Heavy Crop for composition. Critics and Comments are most welcome.

    Something went wrong while saving for web so replaced it after correcting problem.

    I really like this.

    The only thing I'd do is turn down the red a
    little, it seems a little hot on my monitor.

    The bright, kind of white background is a little distracting, but
    sometimes you have to deal with the hand that's dealt you.

    Thanks Doug, I did nothing to enhance colors..something went wrong with BG while saving for web so replaced it Does the corrected version look any better?

    very nice comp Sachin, but something looks a bit wrong with the processing, unless this is a really big crop.
    The focus on the head and the eye looks a bit off, not your usual IQ.

    I love the image as I see it now in Pane 1. Composition and pose are superb. Same for EXP. You might wish to add some CYAN--try +50--to the REDs in Selective Color. That works usually better than lowering the RED SAT....

    If you twisted my arm I would suggest a sliver off each side--maybe a touch more than a sliver in front of the bird.

    As noted above, the composition is very nice. I like the diagonal of the perch and the bird's vertical position in comparison.

    Lovely shot I agree about the reds and I have learned something - I would have suggested lowering the saturation but now I have read Artie's suggestion, (hope this is in the next Digital Basics update Artie!)
