    Default RWBB in Cattails

The RWBBs have returned (the official start of the new photography season for me) so I've been trying to get some better versions of shots taken in previous years. Wish they'd start getting active while the light's a little better but I guess they have their own schedules to keep. 7D, 500/4 + 1.4xTCII, f6.3, 1/160s, ISO 1000, tripod, MLU, cable release, small crop from left as viewed, removed tip of cattail stem coming right out of the top of the head.

Hi Steve, nicely framed between the ends of the cattails, and with good eye contact too. You have exposed this fellow very well, good DOF and detail throughout, and impressive sharpness for your slow ss. Well captured, and happy hunting in the future.

Excellent exposure and head turn and comp. I wish the left cattail was on the same focal plane as the bird. Outstanding BG.

I like the pose, perch, eye contact, exposure and clean BG. Well done Steve!
