Looks like the 'morphing zebra' celebrating southern lights
Amazing creativity! Love the perspective and the bg... excellent processing!

This somehow reminds me of watching the developing tray and seeing an image emerge. Amazing tension/expectation and energy. The result is a statement... as apposed to an effect. Wonderful work!!

It different for sure...like the sky, and the zebra with its mouth open, really conveys morphing (like you see in the movies).... well done

Love the POV, wild pose and rich colors & textures, Hilary. It does have a primeval feel, love the soft light on the clouds. The subtle vertical streaks in sky kind of echo zebra stripes, and remind me of the streaks you might see coming from rain clouds. Has a saturated watercolor look, and I understand Steve's reference to a film developing tray, as my eye also wants to interpret the streaks as ripples in the "paper".

Hilary,
Greetings. Very strong image. Wow. If it were mine, I would tone down the streaks... even go without. Would be interested to see how a textured but not streaky bg would compare. To my eye the streak texture reduces the subject/bg contrast and pulls the punch a bit. That's not to say it isn't very cool as is (double negative translation... It's very cool as is
).
Cheers,
