Default Some trumpeter swans with their yellow tags flapping

Well, look at it this way: our native swan was almost extirpated and human beings are awfully fond of "correcting" the sins of past generations. In the case of the trumpeter swan here in Ontario, we've got big yellow numbered tags. This picture was taken the other day with the Canon 7D, 70-300L @ 214mm, iso800, 1/1000, f5.6. You're looking at ~65% of the image. Also, I did a little levels adjustment and applied u.s.m. Many thanks for your consideration. I hope to hear from you! Your comments mean so much to me.

    Hey Jack,
Been a long day so take it with a grain of salt.....but not sure if it is quite sharp overall. I like the line you captured.....could have been f/5.6 that did you in but a very cool design and light looks good too.

Roman...long or short day, there's no way this is quite sharp, you're quite right about that. I'd never even pretend this was a sharper image. Bad pun. That used to be a store, I remember, maybe it still is? Anyhow this picture, it's sharpish, let's say that. Or: sharpesque. Many thanks for the comments, they are appreciated.

Brings a whole new meaning to "yellow tag day" ( sale at various stores in NS). I like the separation of the bird at the left fom the rest of the flock. Nice light. I do wish for more detail in the birds. Do you have some frames when they got closer? I might also play with the brightness of the sky to bring out the blue. I had to chuckle when I saw that you did levels adjustment and usm. You" have come a long way baby" since your first post here on BPN.

An excellent line up here Jack. I'm not sure what more detail can be expected. It looks sharp enough to me. I think you could have asked for a better sky but him up there does not always give us what we want and he rarely listens to us in Manchester/Salford :(

Many thanks, Gail and Adrian, for the nice words. I do have some close-ups with more detail but they weren't as interesting to me as this one...it was actually a wonderful day, you know. i was watching the juvenile king eider swim around me, and then these trumpeter swans started flying circles around the marina. Then, in the distance, 30 or more tundra swans slowly flew in...a happy day for Uncle Breakfast, to be sure...

As Roman noted, an interesting line up across the sky. Almost looks like a time lapse photo. A little drama/color in the sky would have helped. Sharpness (or lack of) not an issue for me with this one.
