    Default Tickell's Blue Flycatcher

This is one bird that usually sits in shade.
    Canon EOS 20D
    Canon 600mm F4 L IS
    Tripod with ball head
    1/100sec, F4, ISO-400 @ 600mm

Cloned out a tiny twig in at the top-right hand corner and cloned out some bright spots behind the branch to the left. Feedback appreciated!!

Nice composition, details and pose. Not an easy bird to capture. Excellent sharpness at 1/100s. DOF a little too shallow for 'bird with its back towards you' but clearly the light wasn't on your side. One option would have been increasing the ISO...not sure how 20D performs at iso 640 and 800. To photograph birds in the forest, high ISO performance is very critical.

Beautiful bird and background. You did a great job getting a sharp face in low light.

Thanks Kaustubh. @F4 i was getting 1/100 i didnt even want to think of what SS i would have got at F8, the body movement + swaying of the branch in the wind might have ruined the image. The ISO performance at 800 is just about usable, and that is why im saving up to upgrade to a 5D MkII.

Such a beautiful bird. It looks very similar to the Mangrove Blue Flycatcher that we have here. Nice detail and look back. I agree it could use more DOF but it seems you were at your equipment's limit when you took this shot.
