a species not too many people down here like, because they are very loud and sometimes do a bit of damage on crops. However, they have lots of personality and are fun to photograph :)

Way wicked. Looks like a studio shot. Perfect pose and detail in the WHITES.

I love the wing spread and the colours and the bird's character shines through. The bird is not quite parralel to the sensor but that is a minor nit. One for the wall.

Love the full wing and tail spread - were you using flash here Jan? Were you hand holding the 600? These are a very funny species that seem to enjoy themselves a lot.

A very interesting photo. An excellent all out full air pose and I really like the slight head turn. Top notch.
    Interesting border choice. Different.

    Hi Jan

Nice shot...! You got the feather detail I was looking for... My only nit is that it looks a bit like it is nailed to a blue wall. I guess the lack of foreground/background is creating that illusion to me.
I concur with the damage, noise and personality. This is the only (wild) bird I have seen roll on its back and I have seen it many times... and they will play with a leaf blowing by for many minutes, throwing it into the air and then jumping on it. I have a feeling some of the plants they rip apart/chew/eat may be illegal..

    well done

I was handholding the 600 and the bird was close to landing on a pole :)

    No flash was used.
