    Default Portrait of Asian Paradise Flycatcher, immature male.

    Photographed yesterday morning at Pune. Raw picture processed with Digital photo professional, Canon, cropped for composition and sharpened. Beak is cleaned, one of tiny catch light in the eye removed. Thanks for viewing, appreciation. C & C most welcome. Regards.
    Canon EOS 550D, 100-400mm IS USM.
    Av mode,F:6.3.,1/1000,ISO:200,Spot metering, White balance: Auto. Hand held.
    Exposure bias: +0.3 stop.

    Good portrait, love that glossy head and crest. Maybe a bit tight at the bottom.

    The bird is excellent, sharp, well exposed, nice pose, interesting crest.

    I agree with Colin about the crop, a little tight below, esp. with the amount of space above.

    If you have more below, might be worth a recrop. Even with more below, I would be inclined to crop a smidge off the top.

    Satish:

    Having the tail, even though out of focus, adds a lot IMO. If you have any free space below the tail and frame edge, that would help also. With current crop, I would add back in just a bit more on top, so that the bird isn't quite so big in the frame. Not back to the original amount of space on top, but a bit more.

    There is absolutely nothing wrong with an OOF tail due to DOF. Everything that should be sharp is!! The reposts are much stronger visually and compositionally...taking the time to add some room below would be well worth it IMO.

    Reposts give a much better appreciation of the bird. With such a big head it almost looks like a caricature!
