Not a very "common" visitor to a local lake. 7D, f/5.6, 1/2500, iso-400, 700mm, NR on background, tiny bit of detail extraction on Nik Color Effects Pro 4. I hope you enjoy because I enjoyed taking the shots.

Nice job on this Gary. I had fun taking some today too but didn't get any this good! Man they are hard, to not blow the whites yet get some detail in the heads! Looks like you did a great job at that here. I like the curves of the water here and the pano crop. I might try to darken the sky reflections in the water a bit.

Man, you are killing me. This bird has been a nemesis of mine me for nearly 3 decades. A nice green head, a perfect head angle, and a nice exposure all work for me.

    Gary:

Congrats! I have never seen one up close, let along capture one so well.

Handsome bird, nice sheen on the head, sharp.

This is one where I might consider getting rid of the second catchlight in the eye.

    Well done.

    Cheers

Really hard to expose for these and this one looks good. Love that green head.

Thanks all for the comments. One more bird down and so many more to go. The hunt continues.

    Gary.
