Default In the off-season I enjoy spending time with these excellent birds

I was going to post more looks at the same juvenile eider, but I think it's better for my health if I get back to gulls. I'd be lying if I said I didn't have great love for these birds. Some day I hope to visit parts of the earth that have RARER gulls, but for now I'm stuck in Toronto. Sometimes it feels like a prison! Still and all I hope you'll enjoy this glimpse into the world of "gulls at cozy frolic" which was shot with the Canon 7D and 200mm f2.8L squeaker at 1/1600, f2.8, iso400. The photo has been cropped. I gave it the old levels tweak and u.s.m. and there you have it...
I will welcome your comments and critical thoughts and ideas! I like this photo. But: will you? Thanks for looking, folks. I wish you well!

I like it also, nice to get the same pose from both.
The crop shows some, a bit of noise on the birds, but not bad.
The immature on with the fish has a really nice color pattern.

Thanks Dan...fair point RE the crop...I cropped the thing a little closer than I normally would so as to show off the birds...I really appreciate your eyes...

Nice action capture. Wish that the wings of the adult were a bit flatter.... For the repost I did not NIK CEF PRO 4 and Viveza work to practice control point skills.... And I moved the front bird back in the frame.

Pretty cool jack to get them both in such similar wing pose. I like that they are so almost flat and the fish head facing us is a plus.

    Jack,

I do love that you tell a story with your photos. This is great and I have to admit that I like Arite's tweeks. You have a good eye for the unusual.

YAW. artie is fine :). If you spring for the bucks be sure to get out 15% off code. I use CEPro on almost every image now.

Jack, This is a super action photo !

Artie, your post seems to have changed the color of the birds. I was wondering which is more accurate.

The repost appears to have a greater magenta component.

Did the Nik treatment increase the saturation and clarity of the hues that were already there in the OP, but less visible?

Or was it something else that resulted in the change.

Thanks, Artie. On my monitor, the BG looks more light purplish.

So much for my calibration !
