OK, I managed to push the Av to f/11 and I think I got the edges sharper. Also I worked on looking for better backgrounds. I think this background is a little better.

Canon Rebel XT, Sigma 70mm Macro, Canon 430 EX Flash w/LumiQuest Soft Box. All handheld.

    1/200 sec at f/11; ISO 800; EC=0; FEC -2

    Your thoughts please.

    Hi Ed,
Maybe just a little clean up on the dirt spots on the flower and BG highlights.........Minor. Like the way you offset it. You can try 1/100 handheld.......I always do (depends on wind)......and that would get you to f16..........not sure an improvement..........but worth a shot!

I like it as is Ed. I am a member of the F8 macro club so for me the DOF is more than enough. If you really want edge to edge DOF with macro really the only way is with Tilt and swing movement lens. Stopping down will darken the BG and make it less smooth.

These flowers are a pale baby blue and not white right? Then the exposure is perfect, if they are more white, I dont think they are, then the whites are a little too dark.

Hey Ed, much better on this shot. Good flower details and not to busy on the BG.

    Roman, John, Robert, Mike,

Thank you all for the feedback. The help/advice you folks are providing is invaluable. It is helping me improve my technique, better see areas for improvement, and, hopefully, produce better images.

    Much appreciated.
