Still trying to come to terms with Sundays events and I know it will be a while before I can revisit the images shot that day, so here is one from a previous trip before I fly back home tonight.

    Hi Steve,
I like the detail and the behaviour shown. A bit more eye contact , I feel, would have improved the image but under circumstances that is at times difficult with leopards.
    TFS and best wishes,
    Mark.

    Nice dentures!
Seeing the other eye would have taken this over the top, but a very nice over the shoulder snarling pose here Steve.

Very nice IQ, I would like to see the frame before this one (if you have it),
just a bit less head turn, a bit of the eyes.
It is still very nice, I really like the crop.

    Steve,

I think you low elevation here creates too steep an angle with the cat's head looking up and loss of the eyes.

Plus side is good view of the teeth, tongue and throat.

Thanks guys, Robert the angle was shooting up, as she was avoiding the two hyenas lurking below.

    Now to catch that flight.

I think Robert has hit the nail on the head with this one .

The look up is just to steep, you really needed to be further way, a few frames before may have been better.

I am so impressed with the detail in the fur, open mouth and whiskers that I don't find the shooting angle or head turn to be a problem. I don't think this image is about the eyes rather the open mouth, teeth and sweet sweet detail for HH. The glimpse of an eye is just enough and cracking BG as well.

Surely being further away would not have helped produce a better image IMO.

Making the look up angle less is how it could have improved the image, that is what I was told by a quite famous Wildlife photographer, and certainly in my experience it is true. I know there is a scientific explanation for this but I cannot remember what it is called. Perhaps somebody else could explain?

Dappled light handled well and I love the details on the fur and in the mouth.
For my tastes it needs just a hint more eye contact, though this does work.
Colour is indeed very nicely handled.

Hi Steve - I agree the colors and richness of this are very nice and the detail, particularly into the mouth, is outstanding. I might be tempted to crop it into an almost head only shot, taking a significant amount from below but it might be too square then.

    TFS,
    Rachel
