Hi all, 50-something here, longtime birder, lifelong SLR user, but only recently (finally) got first DSLR, just last September (2011). Only got "serious" about bird photography in late November. Here's where I've managed to get so far: http://www.flickr.com/photos/67904872@N07/
Equipment is a Canon T3i with L-series 100-400. I got zoom instead of prime because I do aviation photography also.
I am delighted to discover this site. Looks like y'all are going to make mincemeat out of me, but that's a good thing. I mean to get good at this, and hanging out with people who are seriously better at it is a good way to make progress, right?
