This is a male Elegant Trogon in winter at Lake Patagonia, Arizona.
I originally posted this shot in "out of the box" because I had cloned out a few branches and therefore it was "manipulated". After thinking about it, I decided that cloning wouldn't qualify as manipulation in the "out of the box" cat. What is the definition of "manipulated"?

The image was made with Fuji Provia 100 and a Nikon 8008s, Tokina 400af f5.6 lens, set at f11, 1/250sec with fill flash set at -.7 exp. comp. Scanned with an HP Photosmart 20/20.

Quite a beautiful bird, Dan. The pose is nice, and the vertical comp is apt for this image. I have never seen this species in real life but I can't help thinking that you could desaturate the reds some. The eye looks soft. I absolutely love the tail feathers!!

Gorgeous Bird Dan, love the tail and breast detail.

Daniel is right on with the eye, selective USM would really improve this issue.

Thanks for the tips guys! I ran the file through Noise Ninja and then selectively sharpened the eye only using Nik sharpener pro. I also saturated the reds +1. Dan

Gorgeous subject, and you did him justice. Great pose and perch and nice background. Colors and details are superb. Repost looks great. The only thing I might do is clone out the LL corner dark brown oof stick,
