    Default Play before naptime

These two southern sea otters were playing after a morning of fishing and before tying up to the kelp bed at Morro Bay for their afternoon nap. It is always a great day when you can watch them for this afternoon ritual.

Great behaviour here, love the expression on the RHS otter.
I would consider sharpening the faces just a hint more.
I assume this was taken from a boat or a jetty/dock?

    Morkel,

Thank you for you comments. I have never sharpened just part of an animal before, guess I will have to learn how. The photo was taken from a jetty. This photo was taken higher up on the rocks than I like to be but, depending on where the otters are, it can be difficult to get down to the water.

If you use Photoshop you can use the lasso tool to roughly select the otters, and the refine by subtracting with the magic wand tool (hold shift + click for adding areas, hold alt + click for subtracting areas)...
