Another image I have revisited from my 2009 trip to the Timbavati Game Reserve in South Africa. It was nice to have a spotting of a leopard out in the open.

HH from a safari vehicle, slight crop from below to remove some leopard waste, levels, curves, selective color adjustments and sharpened in CS5.

    C&C welcome and appreciated. Thanks,

Looks pretty good to me Rachel. I like the inclusion of the tree trunk, and also like the pose looking back, with the tail tip curled over.

    Rachel,

I am not sure about the tree but it is there and would be quite difficult to eliminate.

I do however see a slight magenta cast most noticably in the soil, I also think a little more oomph and sharpening may not go amiss.

Here is a probably overdone repost

Hi Rachel, nice looking Leopard and I think having the tree trunk in, kind of adds a stopping point, if that makes sense? Having the side profile with the look towards camera and the curled works. Will think on how we can improve the angle/POV and how to do that for you for later.

Colourwise, I would look back at some of your previous adjustments.

Thanks Grant and Ken. Here's a repost. Ken - I played with the color a bit but I don't think it was the magentas but rather the reds and yellows that were stronger in the bg. I also adjusted the midtones for a bit more punch.

Thanks Steve. I must have been posting my repost at the same time you posted. As always, thanks for the comments and suggestions.

Hi Rachel I think you are on the right track, might just pulled the two channels back +wise on the Leopard. You can get more detail also out of the fur around the chest & belly and then adjust the image to give it a bit more depth, as the detail is there, look at the tree trunk, I just think you can go further with the image, based on the OP, WDYT.

Nice pose here Rachel - and good to get one in the open in that region.
I like Steve's repost most colour-wise but feel it can go a bit brighter overall...will perhaps have a look tonight at home again.

Nice clarity and look of depth to the fur of this one Rachel. I think your OP is better than your RP and both Ken's and Steve's versions work for me. Love the tail curl too.
