    Default Short-eared Owl

This little owl was telling the other owls, harriers and me to bug off because this area was already taken. Cropped vertical from horizontal. I lightened up the right eye to match the left.

Dave, what a pose. very unique...dont see that many owl shots with open bill. You got that along with the head-on HA. Terrific shot. exposure and details look good. liked the perch as well. If mine, I'd crop off the blue at the top. its drawing the eye and not adding that much IMO.

Agree just a little off the top and I would lower the brightest parts a little bit also.

You caught a nice moment Dave. I like those eyes and the open beak. I agree with removing the blue at the top, I like the perch also.

Nice pose captured, dave. Love the eye contact and open beak. I find that there is too much canvas at the top.

I like the fierce ,open beak shot. Not often seen in owls.Great shot.
Another vote for some canvas off at the top. Perhaps also toning down the chest and belly slightly .

Terrific calling pose, stare and setting. The rocky perch and bg are excellent. The open mouth and stare make this a winner. +1 to more off the top.
